- A prospectus will be available on November 13, 2003 for solicitation of offers to award concession contract(s) for up to two concessioners to provide tour bus services on the motor road of Acadia National Park, on Mount Desert Island, Hancock County, Maine, from May through mid-October each year. The concessioner must provide all personnel and all equipment necessary to provide the services. The term of the new concession contract is ten years. The minimum franchise fee to be paid to the National Park Service is three percent of the concessioner's annual gross receipts. Annual gross receipts for 2002 totaled $324,992 for the two operators. The prospectus will explain the business opportunity, the terms and conditions under which the National Park Service will award the concession contract, the proposal instructions and proposal package (including the selection factors). The solicitation, selection and award of the concession contract will be conducted pursuant to 36 CFR Part 51. An electronic copy of the prospectus will be available November 13, 2003 on the Internet at www.nps.gov/acad.
