- Notice of Intent: Concerns having the ability to furnish the following supplies, and services are requested to give written notification, including, a telephone number for a POC to the acquisition office listed in this notice within 5 calendar days from the date of synopsis. The Bureau of Reclamation has a requirement for membership services provided by the Center for Geotechnical Practice and Research (CGPR) at Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University with a base year and four (4) option years. The Contractor provides educational opportunities, and a medium for technical exchange and research formulation with Reclamation's Geotechnical and Geology Groups. By being a member, Reclamation receives support for the geotechnical services group either by accessing CGPR's website or by telephone. Support is in many forms, such as, small scale consulting, literature searches, rapid research dissemination, and specialized research and state of the art reports selected by the members. Reclamation's Geotechnical and Geology groups wish to participate to fulfill career development and technology exchange for professional engineers and geologists among our staff. Therefore, it is the Bureau's belief that The Center for Geotechnical Practice and Research at Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University is the only source capable in providing the supplies and services based on the facts above. This is not a formal solicitation. However, concerns that respond shall provide detailed data concerning their capabilities and may request to receive a copy of the solicitation when, and if it becomes available. This notice may represent the only official notice of such a solicitation. See Note 22.
