Description
CAPS, CADET, SERVICE & PARADE, MEN'S AND WOMEN'S. SOLICITATION FA7000-04-R-0003. The men's service and parade caps shall be manufactured in accordance with U.S. Air Force Academy (USAFA) specification CU 2090-05 dated 3 January 2003 and the women's service and parade caps shall be manufactured in accordance with USAFA CU 400-07 dated 30 January 2003. The basic fabric for the service caps shall be cloth, blue, Elastique, wool, 18.0 ounces which will be government furnished material. The basic material for the parade caps shall be vinyl-coated cloth (artificial leather), conforming to Class 7, untreated white, Federal Specification A-A-59571 with exceptions. All material for men and women's parade caps shall be contractor furnished material. Estimated yearly quantities for parade caps, dress, white, men's is 1100 per year and women's is 300 each. Estimated yearly quantities for service cap, blue, men's is 2100 and women's is 700 each. All quantities include fill-in orders, if required. Fill-in requirements: parade caps, men/women: 60 each; service caps, men/women: 30 each. The Fill-in requirements are included in the estimated yearly requirements. Exact quantities and sizes will be provided by delivery order each year. All caps shall be delivered yearly no later than 30 April. First articles, consisting of one each men's and women's service and parade caps, shall be required within 30 days from date of contract award. This is NOT a Request for Proposal (RFP). The RFP, solicitation number FA7000-04-R-0003, will be issued on or about 17 November 2003 with a closing date of about 16 December 2003. Delivery shall be FOB Destination, USAFA, CO. A clause contained in this request for proposal is 252.225-7012, Preference for Certain Domestic Commodities also referred to as the Berry Amendment. The Berry Amendment applies only to DoD and has been included in DoD Appropriations Act since 1841. The Act restricts DoDs expenditure of funds for supplies consisting in whole or in part of certain articles and items not grown or produced in the United States or its possessions.
