- Description
- The U.S. Secret Service has a requirement for a Lincoln ballistic protection series base- car for testing and evaluation. This requirement is being issued by Gov.Works under the franchise authority of the Department of the Interior on behalf of the Secret Service in accordance with FAR Part 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. The Government intends to negotiate with Ford Motor Company for this requirement on a sole source basis. Ford has produced a unique vehicle that requires evaluation in the development of armored passenger vehicle (APV) standards. The testing and evaluation of this vehicle will assist in establishing benchmarks for performance in all aspects of the APV standard.
