- Description
- The Forest Service will be accepting offers for the Grider Creek Watershed Restoration Road Decommissioning. This project involves work consists of clearing vegetation, excavation at draw crossings and along road to achieve an outsloped template, removal of existing culverts, generating, hauling and placing riprap, pit development and cleanup, decommission dip construction, removing and hauling existing gates, maintaining erosion and pollution control measures, seeding and mulching and haul route maintenance. This project will be a cooperative project between California Department of Fish and Game and the US Forest Service and funded by both agencies. LOCATION: The project area is located on the Happy Camp Ranger District of the Klamath National Forest in Siskiyou County, California. The project area requires access from two routes: To access the Eastside of the project ? from the junction of Interstate 5 turn west on Highway 96 proceed approx. 35 miles to County Road 7F01 (Scott River Road). Turn left off the highway and proceed on 7F01 10.6 miles to FS Road 46N64 (Thomkins Creek Road) on the right. Turn onto 46N64 and proceed approximately 15.9 miles to FS road 45N77 and another 2 miles to FS road 45N02Y, both junction to the left with 46N64. See project map for the roads in this area to be decommissioned. To access the Westside ? continue on Highway 96 another 10 miles from the junction with Co. Road 7F01 to FS road 46N64 (Walker Creek Road near Seiad Valley) on the left. Proceed on 46N64 for about 100 feet and turn onto Co. Road 8D001 (Grider Creek Road). Proceed 2.4 miles to FS road 46N66. Continue 2.7 miles to FS road 46N66A on the right and another 1.6 miles to FS road 46N68 on the left. Refer to the project area map for roads within this area to be decommissioned. PREBID TOUR: A pre-bid tour is NOT scheduled. CONTRACT TIME is 68 days. Estimated price range is $100,000 to $250,000. Work is estimated to start April 16, 2004. Solicitation estimated issue date is Nov. 7, 2003, with estimated due date of December 11. The solicitation will be posted on the FedBizOpps website for viewing and printing.
