Description
The Military Sealift Command Pacific is soliciting proposals for the modification and or renewal of the USNS MERCY After Galley. Following is the Statement of Work: Provide services of a Qualified Marine Contractor to perform the following in the modification / renewal of the after Galley , 01-100-0 : a)Provide installation sketches to ABS for approval, prior to commencement of work, and submit as built drawings upon completion of work. Any interferences are to be temporarily removed and reinstalled or designed around. Steel bulkhead removal/reinstallation or modification will require pre-approval of local ABS Surveyor. (619) 236-1838. b) Remove and dispose of existing refrigerator/freezer. Will not be replacing item. c) Remove and dispose of Gear Locker - adjacent to large four (4) doored Refrigerator. Will not be replacing item. d) Remove existing oven and replace with Combi Oven (Electric Full Size) Vulcan Hart Model# VCE207. (GFM Material, material already onboard USNS MERCY). e) Remove existing Range and replace with Heavy Duty Electric Range Vulcan Hart Model# VR2.(GFM Material, material already onboard USNS MERCY). f) Remove existing Griddle and replace with Heavy Duty Electric Range(Griddle) Vulcan Hart Model# V5. (GFM Material, material already onboard USNS MERCY). g) Remove existing Two Section Reach-in Refrigerator and replace with Tulsen #RHT232NUT-HHS. (GFM Material, material already onboard USNS MERCY). h) Remove existing ROFRY Machine and table unit. Replace with Stainless Steel Cabinet measuring approximately 29? L X 30? W X 31?H. With two double-pan stainless steel doors on both sides of counter. Interior of counter to have adjustable shelves. New Counter top will measure approximately 10?3? L X 30? W and have a continuous marine edge. i) Pass-thru Window Area. Remove existing Plexiglas and existing tray slide and cap serving line with stainless steel U-channel and fabricate and install one each new stainless steel passover shelf with stainless steel framed Sneeze shield assembly approximately 12?8?L. (Would like the same sneeze shield designed assembly that the MTF Galley has onboard USNS MERCY (loc: 02-33-0). j) Lowerator Cabinet modify to use 2 stacks of oval plates. MSC representative will provide size of oval plates. k) Request provide Stainless Sheet to cover the existing holes located next to Lowerator Cabinet. Dimensions: 29? L 23? W. l) Modify Steam Tray to have 3 holes for long pans and 2 holes for soup/gravy pots. m) All equipment replaced will have new water/steam and Drain Piping replaced up and thru existing Bulkheads and Decks replace associated penetration sleeves. Piping to be tested and witnessed by Chief Engineer or designee to 125 psi. n) Existing Steam Kettle is to remain in place. o) Existing deck is to remain and care is to be taken not to damaged. (non skid sealing surface will be put on by aboard MilDept at conclusion) p) Work to be done to satisfaction of Supply Officer , Chief Engineer and MSC Rep. Vessel Availability: Ship Check : Please coordinate directly with the Port Engineer (Mr. Paul Crovo) for a date between 10/22/03 and 10/29/03. Start date will be directly coordinated with the Port Engineer after award and after all materials have been procured.
