- Description
- The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to contract for FY04 F405-RR-401 installation engines, spare engines, spare modules, shipping devices, engineering support and spare and repair parts. This requirement will be procured in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. NAVAIR intends to procure these items from Rolls- Royce plc., as Rolls-Royce is the sole developer and manufacturer of the F405-RR-401 engine. Rolls-Royce plc. is the only firm with the requisite knowledge and expertise to perform the F405-RR-401 requirements within the timeframe required. The period of performance is 24 months. See Note 22.
