- Description
- This is a notice of intent to award on a sole-source basis for the commercial items in accordance with FAR Part 12 procedures, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only notice; a written solicitation will not be issued. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) intends to contract with Southland Waste Systems, Republic Services LP, 8619 Western Way, Jacksonville, FL, for trash removal services, for the period of 10/20/2003 through 09/30/2004. Service will be provided to: DHS ICE Surveillance Support Branch East, Jacksonville, Florida. This contract is for services which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate only with Southland Waste Systems under the authority 41 U.S.C. 253 ( c)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1. Additional sources are not being sought, as they are not permitted by the conditions of the lease. Only Southland Waste Systems is permitted security access to the facility by the landlord, Cecil Commerce Center. Use of any other vendor would violate the facility lease. As a result, this requirement is being solicited on a sole-source basis.
