- Description
- The National Cancer Institute, Laboratory of Receptor Biology and Gene Expression (LRBGE) intends on entering into a sole source contract with Leica Microsystems, Inc., 410 Eagleview Blvd., Suite 107, Exton, PA 19341 for a one year service agreement on a government owned Leica Confocal SP Microscope. The microscope is a unique piece of equipment, which requires professional maintenance by specially trained engineers. Leica Microscope, Inc., is the only source authorized to repair/maintain this equipment as well as patent rights. Any down time of this equipment would be of great cost to the government as well as loss of research. However, if any interested party believes it can provide the required services it may submit a statement of capabilitites. The capability statement and any other furnished informtion must be in writing and must contain material in sufficient detail to allow NCI to determine if the party can fully meet the requiremens. Capability statements must be received in the contracting office by 1:30 P.M. EDT, (Local Washington, D.C. time) on October 23, 2003. This procurement will be processed based on FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures. If you have any questions please contact Cynthia Brown, Purchasing AGent on (301) 402-4509. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based on responses to this notice is solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procuremnet.
