Description
The Contractor shall provide emergency ground ambulance services for Navajo Area Indian Health Service (NAIHS)CHS eligible patients between all points and all places with the Gallup Service Unit. All NAIHS CHS eligible patients are covered under this contract if transported by ground ambulance within the Gallup Service Unit. Provision of ambulance services will also include medical transport outside the primary response area as medically necessary that include Crownpoint Comprehensive Health Care Facility, Fort Defiance PHS Indian Hospital from Gallup Indian Medical Center. Medical transports of patients from Gallup, NM to Albuquerque, Farmington, Shiprock, NM and Chinle and Flagstaff, AZ are not part of this contract. Ramah and Pinehill residents are not covered under this contract. Ground transport services will be available twenty-four hours per day, seven days per week. The Contractor shall provide ambulance services which shall be incompliance with the standards of the New Mexico Medical Assistance Division (MAD); Medicaid Transportation and Client Medical Transportation Services, New Mexico Human Services Department. The Contractor shall provide all necessary personnel, drugs, medical supplies, equipment, vehicles, facilites, and other items and expertise necessary for or incidental to provide ambulance services. The Contractor shall conduct "Patient Evaluation" when the patient is transported to non-IHS/IHS facility.The Contractor shall receive and respond to requests for ALS and BLS ambulance services and inter-facility patient transport services from GIMC Tour Nurse Supervisor or the Charge Nurse. CHS Eligibility factors will be applied when ground ambulance transports are arranged from GIMC to outside points and places within the Gallup Service Unit and are not covered by this contract. Upon approval a CHS purchase order will be issued by the home of residence facility. The Contractor shall be financially responsible to arrange emergent, urgent, and other NAIHS request for ground transport in situations when the Contractor cannot provide service. The Contractor shall establish an administrative mechanism for collection of third party resources. It shall be the Contractor's responsibility to bill all applicable alternate resources including assisting patients to enroll with the appropriate entitlement programs.
