Description
The U.S. Army TACOM-ARDEC at Picatinny, NJ has a requirement to procure a quantity of Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) .22 caliber rimfire ammunition containing lead-free projectiles. There are four types of ammunition being requested: Type 1- Cartridge, Caliber .22, Standard Velocity for Rifle Type 2 - Cartridge, Caliber .22, High Velocity for Rifle Type 3 - Cartridge, Caliber .22, Match Grade for Rifle Type 4 - Cartridge, Caliber .22, Match Grade for Pistol The Contractor will provide 15,000 rounds for each type of ammunition listed. It is the Contractor?s choice to only submit one type, a combination of types, or all types for a maximum of 60,000 rounds. The Government will qualify and test against performance specification (MIL-PRF- 70600A). Along with this requirement, the projectiles of these rounds must be 100% lead-free and free of all other contaminants that would render the spent projectiles as hazardous waste or any other waste that would require regulatory cleanup to ranges or other areas. These projectiles must not leach toxins into the environment and must prove to be environmentally friendly to flora and fauna. This is not a request for cost/ technical proposals at this time, and will result in no future obligation to the Government. A formal Request For Proposal (RFP) will be issued at a future date. The procurement will be a full and open competition, and any Proposals received in response to the RFP will be evaluated on a Best Value basis, resulting in single or multiple contractor awards.
