Description
The NAVAIR Orlando Training Systems Division has a requirement for the alteration and upgrade of exterior piping for the Fire Fighting Training Devices 19F1B, 19F3B and 19F4A located at the Farrier Fire Fighting School in Norfolk, VA. The effort requires removal of all insulation, heat stripping and exterior piping. Replacement shall be with new schedule 40 piping and waterproof insulation. The Government will determine at time of removal if the heat stripping can be re-used or if adjustment to the contract will be required to replace. New flanges will be required for installation of the piping. Replacement of three (3) existing six (6) inch butterfly valves with six (6) inch ball valves is also required. The contractor must meet all industry standards. Pressure testing of the new piping system to not less than 175 PSI will be conducted by the contractor and witnessed by the Government. Redlines of Government provided drawings will be required. All available commercial off the shelf manuals /drawings shall be provided upon completion. The issuance of the Request For Quotation is anticipated to be on or about 27 Oct 03 with a 21 day response time. On site work is to be performed between 15 Dec 03 and 06 Jan 04 at which time the training devices will not be operating. This acquisition is being conducted in accordance with the Simplified Acquisition Procedures of the Federal Acquisition Regulation.
