- USAFE Contracting Squadron, Ramstein AFB Germany is soliciting for non-personal services for Operations and Maintenance (O&M) of communication equipment for Southern Europe Communications, henceforth that will be known as ?SouthernComm.? Communication support for Southern tier Europe will include Italy, Greece, and Turkey. Services include operation and maintenance of long haul communication support and base computer support. Contracted effort includes, Audio/Visual Maintenance, Systems Control, Telephone Operations, Personnel Alerting Systems Maintenance, Inside Plant/Outside Plant Telephone Switching, Information Assurance, Satellite Communications, Communication Maintenance, Emergency Power Maintenance, Patch and Test, Wideband Maintenance, Antenna Maintenance, Maintenance Control, Material Control, System Maintenance, SIPRNET, and Local Area Network operation. The planned period of performance will cover a one-year base period and five, one-year options if exercised. The government anticipates award on or about May 2004 with a 90-day phase-in to begin prior to contract start date, 01 Oct 2004. This acquisition will be issued as a Request for Proposal (RFP) on or about 17 Nov 2003. The contract type contemplated is Firm Fixed-Price. A pre-proposal conference and site visits will be anticipated the week of 01 Dec through 12 Dec 2003. Email the contract specialist for a copy of the itinerary of site visit events. All instructions/information required for submission will be included in the solicitation. A draft Statement of Work (SOW) was provided to industry; posted on FEDBIZOPS, 30 Sep 2003. Final version of the SOW will be included in the solicitation upon release. The government plans to use the Internet (http://www.eps.gov or FEDBIZOPS) as the primary means of disseminating and exchanging information. Hard copies will not be made available.
