Description
Sandia National Laboratories is actively soliciting industry partners to license, manufacture, and sell a unique suite of microfluidic connection products. We are offering two distinct portfolios: The CapTite? collection of capillary fittings, which is based on our exclusive one-piece ferrule; and the Chip-Tite? series of manifolds and interconnects, which is fully compatible with CapTite?. Specifications for both collections can be viewed at http://www.ca.sandia.gov/industry_partner/MicroChem.html ). Because microfluidic and lab-on-a-chip products are expected to provide superior benefits in many important and growing markets, we believe these fittings and manifolds will find broad application in the existing research community as well as in many emerging markets. Current applications include proteomics, genomics, HPLC, micro-mechanical and micro-hydraulic assemblies. Experts predict that the microfluidics industry is also likely to benefit from the technological progress in complementary areas such as semiconductors and health care, and from enhanced funding through government grants and direct sales. Lab-on-a-chip devices are expected to eventually provide multiplexing and lower overall price for research, routine, and diagnostic testing. This offering represents an opportunity to license a product line with the potential to become the standard for microfluidic devices that will permeate the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, life science, defense, public health and food and agriculture markets. If your company has the technical capability and manufacturing capacity to produce these devices for government and commercial applications, and if you wish to pursue this unique opportunity, please email a brief description of your company, your contact information, and your interests in this venture to: Partnerships-CA@sandia.gov. You will be contacted by a licensing representative who will discuss the requirements and steps for procuring a license. Please respond no later than October 31, 2003 Should you desire additional information please refer to our website: http://www.ca.sandia.gov/industry_partner/MicroChem.html ).
