Description
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Dryden Flight Research Center (DFRC) is releasing a Request for Information (RFI) for potential vendors for a new generation Range Telemetry Tracking System (RTTS). The Western Aeronautical Test Range (WATR) has a requirement to repackage some of its range assets. NASA DFRC is interested in consolidating data gathering systems such as: telemetry (TM), video and communications. The WATR telemetry tracking systems are capable of auto tracking targets from horizon to horizon, inside the atmosphere and orbital tracking of Low Earth Orbit (LEO) spacecraft in L and S frequency bands. These systems track both narrow and wide band telemetry, and receive downlink video signals in the L, S, and C frequency bands. These systems also provide command up-link to Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV), Remotely Piloted vehicles (RPV), and Remotely Augmented vehicles (RAV) in L and S band. The WATR provides omni/directional air to ground voice and data communications support in Ultra High Frequency (UHF), Very High Frequency (VHF) and a 1000 watt UHF Flight Termination System (FTS). The WATR provides both day and night high definition (720p) optical tracking. The respondents to this RFI should focus on the integration of the TM, Video and Comm. components into one compact tracking system. The integration should include the control and monitoring for each of the systems (TM, Video and Comm.) into one integrated console.
