- Description
- The Government announces a childcare center expansion project with an estimated magnitude between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000 at the James M. Hanley Federal Building, Syracuse, NY. The project includes renovation of existing occupied space on the first floor consisting of approximately 750 square meters (8,100 square feet). The existing childcare center, a conference room, and another tenant currently occupy the space. As a result, the job will be constructed in five (5) phases. The work includes, but is not limited to, selected demolition, various alterations to existing walls, erection of new partitions, insertion of new ceilings, providing new finishes and built-in woodwork, and alterations to HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and electrical systems plus new sanitary sewer connection to existing sewer line. A bid alternate line item will provide for exterior windows in eight (8) locations. The contractor shall furnish all necessary labor, materials, equipment, tools and supervision. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 236220 and the size standard is $28.5 million. Performance and payment bonds will be required following award pursuant to the Miller Act. A bid guarantee is also required. This procurement is 100% set-aside for HUBZone small business concerns. Offers from other than HUBZone small business concerns will not be considered. All responsible HUBZone sources may submit a bid that shall be considered by the agency. The required construction completion date is 365 days commencing one day after the notice to proceed. The tentative solicitation release date is 15 days after posting in FedBizOpps. This solicitation incorporates documents that are not available electronically on the Governmentwide Point of Entry (GPE). Interested parties may access the solicitation at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. This site provides instructions for downloading the solicitation file. The solicitation, amendments to the solicitation, specifications and drawings will be available through a secured Internet site. Interested parties shall send all requests to access the secured Internet site and requests for the solicitation to the attention of Correen Pounds at the e-mail or mailing addresses shown in this presolicitation notice. Contractors are requested to provide a street address, telephone number, business license or other documentation granted by the state or local jurisdiction to conduct business, valid DUNS number, valid IRS Tax ID Number and e-mail address. Contractors will also be required to sign a Document Security Notice. Once the request for the solicitation has been accepted, an e-mail will be sent to the e-mail address provided. The e-mail will provide instructions for entry into the secured Internet site and access to the solicitation. Contractors should request e-mail notification from FedBizOpps in order to remain apprised of solicitation. See Note 27.
