- Description
- The Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC), Division Newport, Rhode Island intends to procure a shipboard hydraulic winch on a firm fixed price basis. The contractor will be required to design, fabricate, and deliver a winch meeting the following technical specifications: Requirements: Overall weight, to include HPU: 600 punds. Maximum overall, Footprint: 3 ? ft athwartship by 3 ? ft fore/aft. This footprint must include the HPU. The overall height of the unit must not interfere with the RHIB?s lifting slings. Hydraulically powered. Tow Loads: 2750 lbs. maximum tow load. Retrieval speed: 100 ft/min @ 2750lbs. Environmental: Must be able to withstand environmental conditions of an open 7m RHIB deck. Components: Drum: Must be capable of handling a combination of faired/unfaired cable. Cable characteristics: Diameter faired: 0.75?, Diameter unfaired: 0.5?, Overall length: 240 ft. Minimum bend diameter: 15?, Breaking strength: 10,000lbs. Additional specifications regarding Brakes, Fairlead/levelwind/Fairing uprighter/, testing, schedule, data requirements, etc. will be included with the RFP. NAICS: 333923.
