- Description
- It is the intent of the National Library of Medicine (NLM) to procure equipment on a sole source basis from Sony Electronics, Lanham, Maryland. The purpose of the acquisition is to procure a Studio VTR which is required as part of an upgrade to APDB?s master control facility. This digital unit, employing current video technology, replaces older analog equipment and positions APDB to utilize the new digital television (DTV) and high definition (HD) technologies. This make and model is specified to be completely compatible (form, fit, function, control layout, operation, maintenance, etc.) with three existing identical VTRS purchased in previous years as the upgrade has progressed. The camcorder system is required to provide in-house capability to gather high definition (HD) images for video production supporting NLM projects. This camera and its accessories are required for compatibility with existing Sony HD VTRS and with an existing identical Sony camcorder that was purchased last year. Fully matched cameras are required for dual-camera video shoots in the APDB studio. The proposed acquisition will be procured under FAR Part 12 - Acquisition of Commercial Items. This is not a Request for Quotation (RFQ), nor is an RFQ available, however, all responsive sources may submit a proposal in a timely manner which will be considered by NLM. Firms interested in responding to the notice must be able to provide the referenced equipment as specified above. Responses must be in writing and must be received in the office within six (6) calendar days from the publication date of this notice. Proposal must include pricing information.
