- The Navy Gold Coast 2003 Small Business Procurement Opportunity Conference will be held on October 7, 2003 at the Marriott in Ventura, California. The conference host for the 15th annual event is the Naval Sea Systems Command, Port Hueneme Division, Naval Surface Warfare Center. It is co-sponsored by NAVAIRSYSCOM, Weapons Division Point Mugu/China Lake and the Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Naval Facilities Institute, NAVFAC Contracts Office, Port Hueneme. The one-day conference will run from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Representatives of major DOD, Federal Civilian Agency and Prime Contractors buying activities will be brought together with small business concerns interested in selling their products and services to the Government and prime contractors at the Marketplace venue. The conference Keynote speaker is the Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Industrial Policy, Ms. Susanne Patrick. Ms. Nancy Tarrant, Director of Small & Disadvantaged Business Utilization, Office of the Secretary of the Navy and Congresswoman Lois Capps, U.S. Representative 23rd District, California, will join her as speakers. In addition to individual counseling by the activity representatives and presentations by the speakers, the Department of Defense (DOD) Western Regional Council for Small Business Education and Advocacy will conduct training seminars throughout the afternoon. The? Small Business Administration (SBA) Program Overview? seminar is to be presented by a full compliment of SBA representatives from the Los Angeles District Office and the Director of the SBA funded Small Business Development Center. The second seminar that will also be offered twice is ?Penetrating the DOD/Navy/Industry Market?. The seminar panel will consist of the SPAWARSYSCOM Associa te Director of Small Business, the Raytheon Small Business Liaison Officer and the Manager of the DOD funded Los Angeles Procurement Technical Assistance Center. Registration, hotel and event information is available on-in at www.goldcoastsboc.com. Registration fee is $60 per person until October 1 when it goes to $75 and is $100 on the day of the event.
