- Description
- The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Lakehurst, NJ intends to negotiate on a non-competitive basis with Honeywell Integrated Avionics Systems, Teterboro, NJ for integration of the Transfer Alignment System (TAS) for Consolidated Automated Support System (CASS). Efforts will include modification of the Honeywell Inertial Reference Unit (IRU) software to accept Naval Air Sensor System Information (NAVSSI) OD-19 data for the initialization of the reference unit. Further, development of an inertial holding fixture with test instrumentation is required. Honeywell is the sole designer, developer and integrator of the TAS and the only known firm with the expertise, technical data and working prototype capable of providing the TAS. The Government does not own the technical data for the TAS unit. This data is required to modify the reference inertial unit to be compatible with NAVSSI. This procurement will include an option to procure up to 80 additional units. The authority for this sole source action is FAR 6.302-1: only one responsible source. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all responses must be received within 15 days of this synopsis notice. A determination by the Government not to open this requirement to competition based on the responses received to this synopsis is solely within the discretion of the Government. No solicitation package will be available.
