- 30th Space Wing, Vandenberg AFB, CA is seeking sources who can provide 4 portable bunkers and 16 blast walls.The bunker should be designed to enable combat troops to secure and hold specific objectives. The objective can be in various forms of checkpoints, road intersections, airfields, bridges, supply dumps, troop encampments and others in various threat level situations. The bunker should be both portable and quickly erected, utilizing the least amount of manpower with very limited engineering support. The bunker must possess the following characteristics: olive drab in color, sand filled, size approximately: 7 feet deep x 9 feet wide x 4? in height with a protective cover. The blast wall should be a Class III in classification. The dimensions should be approximately as follows: 94 inches tall x 48 inches long x 36 inches wide at the bottom, as well as gray and tan granite in color. Delivery date should be no later than 31 October 2003. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit offers. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive offers. However, all offers received within 7 days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Delivery and installation shall be made to Vandenberg AFB, CA. Contractor shall furnish all labor, tools, parts, materials and facilities necessary to transport the portable bunkers and blast walls to Vandenberg AFB, CA.
