Description
This is a solicitation for commercial items. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is being issued as a Request For Quotation (RFQ) # BLS-03-37 in accordance with FAR Part 13, NTE $21,486.00 DESCRIPTION: Reconfiguration of furniture systems to include the range of services that are necessary to allow BLS to reconfigure up to a maximum of 100 workstations within the existing on-site project area in Washington, DC. Reconfiguration involved in the dissembling & reassembling of components and may involve minor or major changes within the existing workstation/furniture layout plan. Installation drawings and typical layouts will be provided for each project. This may include, but is not limited to, pulling necessary products from storage, returning surplus products to storage, offloading new products, uncrating new products, etc. BLS uses Haworth, Steelcase and Knoll products. SPACE CONDITIONS <> Depending on project location, space may or may not be occupied at the time of construction. <> All work areas in the area of the reconfigurations must be neat and orderly as the contractor leaves the job site each day. <> All corridors, elevator lobbies, loading dock areas and major traffic areas around the reconfiguration site need to be kept clean and free of parts and materials daily prior to the departure of the contractor. <> Upon completion of reconfiguration, the area needs to be cleaned and ready for occupancy. STORAGE/STAGING AREA OF MATERIALS <> Storage and staging areas will be provided for each project. BLS to designate area. All salvageable material to be returned to BLS stock. USE OF ELEVATORS <> Contractors shall have use of freight elevators from loading dock. No reservation of elevator is needed. SECURITY <> The full names of all employees of the general contractor and subcontractors must be provided to BLS no later than 24 hours in advance of their arrival. A valid photo ID is required. <> Contractors will need to be escorted by BLS staff to gain access to the area of work. <> Contractors must have their visitor badge displayed at all times. PARKING <> Entrance to loading dock (two center doors) is on North Capitol Street. <> Parking is available on the loading dock from 5:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. <> Daytime parking is not available on the loading dock. <> The make, model and license plate number of vehicle(s) must be provided to BLS no later than 24 hours in advance of arrival. <> To exit loading dock after 11:00 p.m., contractors must contact PSB Security to open doors and return visitor badge. <> To access loading dock after 11:00 p.m., contractors must use call box outside loading dock door to contact PSB Security and obtain visitor badge. HOURS OF OPERATION <> The majority of projects will be done between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. <> Some work may also be completed on the weekends. HOURLY RATES <> This will be a blanket purchase order and all work will be paid by hourly rates. <> Provide hourly rates for both normal working hours and premium/overtime hours for the following: Project Manager Installer Laborer REFERENCES <> Provide references with contact name and phone number or e-mail address of government organizations where work has been performed by your organization. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement by submitting quotations. All quotes received within fifteen (15) days after the publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. The purchasing activity is not responsible for locating or securing any information which is not identified in the quotation and reasonably available to the purchasing activity. All Quotes shall be submitted to Bureau of Labor Statistics, Room 1830, 2 Massachusetts Ave., NE, Washington, DC 20212 no later 3:00 p.m. EDT, September 29, 2003, and be clearly marked with RFQ # BLS-03-37. If your response is not received by the date/time and at the location specified in the announcement, it will not be considered. No hand carried quotes will be accepted. Offerors may download the RFQ by accessing the FedBizopps (FBO) website at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. All future information about this acquisition, including solicitation amendments, will also be distributed through the FBO site. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring the FBO site to ensure that they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition. Fax proposals are encouraged and must state name, address and solicitation number. An original copy of the proposal shall follow by mail. Quotations may also be submitted electronically provided that all the necessary documentation requested in this RFQ is included.
