- Sharepoint is a complex application with many possible configurations. DOE is seeking assistance from a strong vendor with experience in integration and configuration of Sharepoint to serve as web portal for an intranet. The purpose of this work is to install and configure Sharepoint for basic features in less than ninety (90) days. The difficulties to be overcome include configuration of Sharepoint 2001 for use on Windows 2000 running on a network without Active Directory. Sharepoint 2003 and Windows 2003 are not candidates for this work due to company policies regulating network servers. This precludes the use of simple configurations and wizards. Experience with manual configuration and knowledge of configuration values is critical to achieve an integrated and functioning system in the limited time available. Vendor will not be able to modify server or network architecture, but must provide a solution working within DOE Oakland policies. The network operates under strict guidance to create a secured network. This is not a classified network, but a very secure network. Vendor may need to adjust the proposed solution to satisfy both security policies and operational procedures. The Sharepoint solution will be implemented on four (4) Compaq dual Pentium servers. This is the planned architecture: LSO2K-SPS SP application server 1 GB RAM LSO2K-SQL SQL Server shared with 5 other applications 1 GB RAM 80 GB storage LSO2K-FILE File server shared with other applications 512 MB RAM 80 GB storage LSO2K-INWEB IIS 5 web server for intranet 1 GB RAM
