Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the subparts in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13 and 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation number 673-112-03 applies and is issued as a request for quotation l. This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2001-15. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 333298 and the business size standard is 500 employees. Provide Bio-Plex Protein Array System, no. 171-000005 or equal for the James A. Haley Veterans Hospital, 13000 Bruce B. Downs Blvd., Tampa, FL 33612. Bio-Plex Protein Array System including array reader w/HTF, microplate platform, PC, monitor, calibration kit, validation kit, maintenance, calibration, validation (MCV) plate, and sheath fluid and 1 year warranty extension agreement no. 171-000005WS. Protein array system shall use multiplexing technology to enable the simultaneous quantitation of up to 100 analytes, uses polystyrene microspheres internally dyed with differing ratios of 2 spectrally distinct fluorophores. Each fluorophore can have any of 10 possible levels of fluorescent intensity, thereby creating a family of 100 spectrally addressed bead sets. Protein array system must have 3 core technologies; the family of fluorescently dyed microspheres to which biomolecules are bound, a flow cytometer with 2 lasers and associated optics to measure biochemical reactions that occur on the surface of the microspheres, and a high-speed digital signal processor to efficiently manage the fluorescent output. This allow for simultaneous quantitive analysis of multiple different proteins from a single sample. Must have beads for specific detection of phosphorylated kinasis such as p38MAPK which is useful in further dissecting of signaling pathways, and as new antibodies become available for binding to the beads, the complexity of the systems which can be investigated using this technology increases. Proposals shall provide pricing for 1 each Bio-Plex protein array system FOB destination and 1 year warranty extension agreement. Proposals shall include sufficient documentation to meet the brand name or equal requirements of the equipment specified. All proposals will be evaluated. The government intends to make award to the responsible offeror whose offer is the most advantageous to the government considering price and price related factors.
