Description
NA PROJECT INFORMATION: Solicitation No. DACA45 03 B 0006. On or about 23 September 2003, this office will issue Invitation for Bids for the construction of ADDITION TO MISSILE MAINTENANCE FACILITY, PN QJVF952007, MINOT AFB, NORTH DAKOTA. Bids will be opened on or about 21 October 2003. This project is set-aside under the Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) Program. To be considered for award, successful bidder must be a certified HUBZone contractor. Status as a qualified HUBZone small busin ess concern is determined by the Small Business Administration (SBA) in accordance with 13 CFR part 126. If the SBA determines that a concern is a qualified HUBZone small business concern, it will issue a certification to that effect and will add the conc ern to the List of Qualified HUBZone Small Business Concerns on its Internet website at http://www.sba.gov/hubzone. A site visit is scheduled for 8 October 2003 at the proposed Construction Site at 10:00 a.m. local time. All Contractors interested in ins pecting the site of the proposed work must contact the Minot Project Engineer Attn: Trev Albright, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, c/o Base Post Office, Minot AFB, ND 58704 for mail and 209 Tanker Trail, Minot AFB, North Dakota 58704 for site inspection, Tel ephone: 701-727-6127 or FAX 701-727-6128, no later than 7 October 2003 to make arrangements to attend the scheduled site visit. DO NOT submit requests for plans and specifications to the site visit personnel listed above. The work will include the followi ng: Approx. quantities the construction will expand the existing Missile Maintenance Facility, located at Minot AFB, North Dakota. The ADDITION TO MISSILE MAINTENANCE FACILITY project will provide a 16,700 square foot single-story addition to the existing facility that includes a heated vehicle storage and light maintenance facility, and a washing facility, for vehicles that provide maintenance and supplies. The addition includes the following: pre-engineered metal building with clear-spanning gabled rigid frames, with rigid frame columns supported upon isolated spread footings; floors will be slab-on-grade; metal wall panels and a standing seam metal roof; mechanical work includes HVAC, a complete plumbing system, vehicle exhaust system, and a dry-pipe fire sprinkler system; electrical work includes new fire alarms, public address system, communication system, security and alarm system, exterior illumination, and a transformer station; and site work including minor site demolition, sanitary sewer, gas distri bution, utility connections, communication lines, and power lines, 51,000 square feet of asphalt parking lot, and a concrete building apron. The estimated construction cost of this project is between $2,500,000 and $5,000,000. Contractor's Quality Control will be a requirement in this contract. The Contractor will be required to commence work within 10 calendar days after notice to proceed and complete the work within 360 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Provisions will be included for li quidated damages in case of failure to complete the work in the time allowed. Performance and payment bonds will be required. Bonding documents including the power of attorney shall bear a original signature by an officer of the surety. The plans and spec ifications are available on Compact Disk CD-ROM and will be provided free of charge. It has been determined that the number of Compact Disks be limited to one (1) per firm. Plans and Specifications will not be provided in a printed hard copy format.
