Description
The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences intends to award a sole source purchase order to Translational Genomics Research, pursuant to 41-U.S.C. 253(c)(1)?Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This is a non-commercial procurement for ongoing studies of the identification of the melanoma susceptibility gene. This is a collaborative study between the NIH/NHGRI and Translational Genomics Research. This collaboration involves individuals who have worked on this project for the past six years. The next step is screening of candidate genes as they are identified using Bioinformatics approaches or oligonucleotide array experiments. As most of the currently known candidate genes either have been screened or are in the process of screening, immediate efforts would be focused on the identification of new candidate genes. Also, potential tumor suppressors will be identified, and the genes will be screened for mutations in the melanoma patient grid. Observed changes will be tracked in families for segregation with the disease. This study is tentatively scheduled for one year. All responsible sources may respond by submitting a written narrative statement of capability within 15 days of date of notice to Elaine Shoaf at the above address or e-mail shoaf1@niehs.nih.gov for consideration by the agency. Response must include detailed technical information and other technical literature demonstrating the ability to meet these requirements. Responses shall also include itemized pricing that is sufficient to make a determination that competition is feasible. If no affirmative responses are received within 15 days of this notice to determine whether a qualified source is more advantageous to the Government, an order will be placed with Translational Genomics Research. The NAICS Code/Size is 541690/$6.0M. This procurement is to be processed using Simplified Acquisition Procedures. For any questions regarding this announcement, please contact Elaine Shoaf via email shoaf1@niehs.nih.gov.*****
