Description
Sources Sought DAAE30-03-R-0825 is amended as follows: The U.S. Army Office of the Project Manager (PM) Combat Ammunition Systems (CAS) is conducting a market survey to identify existing 155mm Howitzer Artillery-launched Sensor Fuzed Munitions (SFM). The operation and capabilities of these SFM must be analogous to the M898 SADARM. (The following website provides a description of the M898 SADARM, http://fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/land/sadarm.htm.) The U.S. Army employed the M898 SADARM during Operation Iraqi Freedom with great success. However, the remaining stockpile is only a fraction of the original quantity. Thus, the U.S. Army wants to insure 155mm SFM supply alternatives to alleviate this shortfall. This identification of supply alternatives must minimize schedule, cost and risk impacts. The U.S. Army may also enter into a compliance program to ready its howitzers to fire selected SFMs. Respondents must comply with the following criteria: 1) The SFM must have a demonstrated full-up-system capability of defeating armored vehicles. ?Full-up-system? means the round is fired from a U.S. Army/NATO howitzer, flies to the designated target area, and effectively engages and kills armored vehicle targets stationed in that target area, and 2) The SFM must have an active production capacity of their SFM nominee. ?Active production capacity? means the manufacturer(s) involved in the production of the SFM are currently making the parts and sub-assemblies needed as well as the complete projectile. Interested firms should provide their qualifications and capabilities within twenty (20) calendar days of this published notice via email to mshuster@pica.army.mil. Provide manufacturer?s name, address, point-of-contact with telephone number and email address, size of business (small/large), and country where the facility is located. This Market Survey is for planning purposes only and should not be construed as a request for proposal (RFP) or as an obligation on the part of the U.S. Government. Respondents will not be notified of the results of this survey. SEE NOTE 25.
