- Description
- The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) intends to negotiate on a sole-source basis a modification to a three year contract with Indiana University for the creation of a real-time implantable biosensor. The proposed modification would add the ability of the sensor to detect and analyze cocaine molecules as well as ethanol alcohol molecules. The statutory authority to negotiate with Indiana University is 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) under FAR reference 6.302-1. Indiana University is the only source developing this particular technology, which currently does not exist. Inquiries must be made in writing; telephone inquiries are unacceptable.
