Description
PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE NOTICE CAREFULLY. The U.S. Department of the Interior, Minerals Management Service, intends to make a Fixed-Price, sole-source award to the University of Alaska, Fairbanks, to conduct the study entitled "Beaufort Sea Nearshore Currents", in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. THE PROPOSED CONTRACT ACTION IS FOR SUPPLIES OR SERVICES FOR WHICH THE GOVERNMENT INTENDS TO SOLICIT AND NEGOTIATE WITH ONLY ONE SOURCE. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. However, all proposals received after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. THE STUDY OBJECTIVE IS TO DEPLOY BOTTOM-MOUNTED ACOUSTIC DOPPLER CURRENT PROFILERS (ADCPs) WITH CONDUCTIVITY, TEMPERATURE, DEPTH (CTDs), AND TRANSMISSIVITY SENSORS AT THREE NEARSHORE LOCATIONS IN THE LANDFAST ICE ZONE FROM THE EASTERN TO WESTERN UNITED STATES BEAUFORT SEA. THE INSTRUMENTS WILL BE DEPLOYED AND RECOVERED, ANNUALLY, FOR THREE YEARS. The estimated period of performance of this effort is forty-eight (48) months. The estimated cost of this effort is between $450,000 and $495,000.
