- Description
- The VA Medical Center, 1400 Blackhorse Hill Road, Coatesville, PA ha= s a requirement for the design and installation of a new hydraulically calculated automatic wet fire-sprinkler system complete and ready for operation, for all portions of Buildings 26, 19N, 19S, 28N, 28S, 27N and 27S including the basements, first floors, second floors, attic spaces and mechanical equipment rooms. The work shall include in all buildings all the necessary excavation, fill, backfill, site restoration, piping, quick response sprinkler heads, 4 inch PIV valve, 4 inch alarm valve for backflow prevention, tamper switches, flow switches, one electric bell in each building, new 6 inch underground main, 4 inch underground feeds to each of the buildings, one 4 inch riser in each building, split into 21/2 inch risers that will feed each side of the building, and the relocation of one fire hydrant. All work shall be in accordance with NFPA-13 requirements and shall meet all applicable VA criteria, codes, life safety codes and Uniform Building Codes. A pre-bid meeting is scheduled on September 10, 2003 at 9:00 am local time at Building 70. All firms interested in submitting offers in response to this solicitation are invited to attend. Coatesville VAMC Fire Chief and Contracting Officer=92s Technical Representative from VAMC Facilities Engineering Service will conduct the pre-bid meeting. Drawings / plans will be available for inspection only at the pre-bid meeting. All requests for information must be in writing to Contracting Officer by 4:30 pm on Sept 12, 2003.=20 Telephone request will NOT be accepted.
