- Description
- Contractors required to provide Radiation Oncology Services including professional and technical components, for an estimated 150 veteran referrals in a 12-month period.Desired contract start date is 10/1/03. It is anticipated that three awards will be made.One each in Alexandria, Lafayette and Lake Charles LA. Anticipated number of referrals is 100 in Alexandria and 25 each in Lafayette and Lake Charles. The selected sites include close proximity to VA Alexandria and highest concentration of VA cancer patients.=20 Complete radiation treatment shall be provided from initial consult to discharge summary. This is a Commercial-Best-Value procurement. Veteran convenience a determining factor in source election.The Contractors shall be located in the State of Louisiana within one of the 23 parishes serviced by VAMC Alexandria LA. The contactors shall be Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) accredited or accredited by the American College of Radiation Oncology (ACRO) and follow and abide by all JCAHO standards.Services shall be provided at the Contractor=92s place of business meeting all governing regulations including ADA. The solicitation contains a base year and four optional one-year provisions. Award will be based on Technical components, Past Performance, and Cost.Required Services include curative and palliative treatment in various modalities as indicated.Services shall include, but are not limited to, simulation, dosimetry, daily treatments, port film, block setups, brachytherapy, intensity modulated treatment delivery, computerized CT planning, all physician services, and any other required services in accordance with industry standards, VHA and the Alexandria LA VAMC Tumor Conference recommendation. All data shall be transmitted between the Contractor and VA electronically. Billing for the physician and facility shall be combined in one bill for professional and technical. Quantities are estimates only and are not guaranteed. Prices/Services shall be in accordance with CPT codes and Offerors offering services at charges greater than Medicare allowables shall not be considered.=20 Solicitations have been hand delivered to all known sources within the service area. Services are currently provided with one contract source in Alexandria and other providers in the area without the benefit of a contract (fee basis). Applicable NAICS codes for this procurement are hospitals, 622100 with a $29 million size standard and NAICS 621999 for free standing facilities with $8.5 million small business size standard. This is an unrestricted procurement and all qualified offerors may submit an offer for consideration. Market research has determined there are no qualified small businesses in the desired area to provide this service.
