Description
The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) intends to award a contract on a sole-source basis to Forensic-Computers.com for the purchase of six Forensic Data Storage Monsters (1.7TB) and six Pelican transport cases. The SEC requires additional forensic data storage for their investigations casework, including forensic images, responsive data, and their indexing. These information pools must be consolidated in order for searches to be performed quickly and efficiently. Forensic Data Storage Monster hardware provide a flexible, large storage capability to meet various PC and Server configurations. These devices are uniquely designed to support Information Technology (IT) forensic work. The hardware has been tailored to provide highly redundant, off-the-network, portable mass storage for forensic work, unlike other data storage products. The data storage must be portable for off-site forensic work. Forensic Data Storage Monsters are tailor made to fit in Pelican transportation cases. Estimated cost of this procurement is $70,571.00. The proposed contract action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested parties are advised that no solicitation document is available for this requirement and may identify their interest and capacity by submitting a capabilities statement by 10:00am August 29, 2003 to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Operations Center, Room 1300, Mail Stop 0-20, 6432 General Green Way, Alexandria, VA 22312, Attention: Edie Reisberg.
