Description
This is a Sources Sought Synopsis to ascertain the availability and identity of contractors capable of manufacturing the required textile components of the F-16 Spin Recovery System, as stated later in this text. As a result of this synopsis, it is anticipated that, a follow-on Request for Proposal (RFP) for a Firm Fixed Price Contract may be issued. Be advised that this is not a RFP and in no way obligates the Government or ensures award of any resultant award of any contract. In short, the Government will not compensate any interested party, firm, or individual that may choose to provide a response to this sources sought synopsis. The United States Air Force, Air Force Flight Test Center, Edwards AFB, CA in intends to procure textile components of the F-16 Spin Recovery System Items are applicable to F-16 Aircraft. Original Mfr is Irvin Aerospace, Inc. Santa Ana, California. The estimated procurement quantity is 2 each outdated parachute components, 2 each inspection and repacking, and 1 each engineering support and management. Should a contract be issued, the awardee shall unpack all hardware inspected for reusability, replace the outdated components which include the deployment bag, parachute canopy, and riser assembly. Sabot seals will be replaced along with other hardware as required. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) is 314999 and the size standard is 500. Contractors interested in responding to this requirement are required to submit their quotations to Patrick Terry, Contract Negotiator at the Air Force Flight Test Center, Directorate of Contracting, 5 S. Wolfe Avenue, Edwards AFB, CA 93524-1185. Responses must be received by 21 August, 2003 at 4 pm, Local Time. Faxed transmissions of quotes are preferred. Tel number is 661 275-2538. Wolfe Avenue, Edwards AFB, CA, 93524, by 25 August 2003 4:00 p.m. Pacific Time. This synopsis is for notification purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation for bids or proposals. The Government does not intend to pay for any information provided under this synopsis. Formal responses to this synopsis should be limited to one page and should detail the experience, capabilities, as briefly outlined above, to the Government.
