- Description
- The Department of Veterans Affairs, VA Tennessee Valley Healthcare System comprising of the Nashville Campus and the Alvin C. York Campus; James H. Quillen VA Medical Center, Mtn Home, TN; VA Medical Center, Louisville, KY; and VA Medical Center, Huntington, WV; intends to negotiate a sole source contract under the authority of FAR 6.302 with the American Red Cross, Tennessee Valley Region, 2201Charlotte Avenue, Nashville, TN 37203. In the event that one award directly with the Tennessee Valley Region of American Red Cross can not be made to cover facilities noted, multiple awards will be made with the appropriate American Red Cross Region Office which supports the above noted VA Medical Centers. The contract will be for blood and blood products certified for human use and require delivery on a routine schedule and also an emergency basis of 24 hours and in some instances one hour or less. NAICS Code 621991. A contract for the period 10-1-03 through 9-30-04 is anticipated. Interested parties have until August 29, 2003 to submit in writing their qualifications/capabilities. Such qualifications/capabilities will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Responses received after August 29. 2003 or without sufficient information to enable the Government to determine that a firm is qualified and capable to perform contract requirements, will be deemed nonresponsive to the synopsis and will not be considered. A determination by the Government not to conduct a competitive procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. Capability statements may be faxed to 615-867-5429, however the contractor must call to verify receipt of the fax.
