Kingsbridge Rd., 9th Floor, Room 9B-16 Bronx, NY 10468 POC: Greg Vogt DESCRIPTION: The Bronx VA Medical Center (VISN3) Business Service Center intends to negotiate sole source with COSMED USA, Inc., 2758 North Paulina, Chicago, IL 60614, for a Portable Ambulatory Monitor (AK4 B2 Telemetry INT Measurement System) to measure the expired air and heart rate of VA patients to determine the oxygen consumption and carbon dioxide production and metabolic demand of the activities of the patient. The K4B2 is utilized by other Government agencies such as NASA Kennedy Space Center, Naval Air Warfare Research Center, various VA Hospitals, Naval Aerospace Medical Research Lab, etc. The aforementioned system is for the VA New York Harbor Healthcare System located at 423 23rd St. NY, NY. The contract shall include the K4B2 portable installation, end user training and supplies at the VA Medical Center in NY. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. This notice of intent is not a request for quotations. The anticipated award date is 8/25/03. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government: Telephone or faxed inquiries will not be accepted.
