- The primary purpose of the project is to improve stand health by reducing the overall stand density by up to 50%. This project includes several different components: timber removal (commercial thinning), precommercial thinning, removal of minimum piece specs, and slash treatment by piling, chipping, or removing on the Jemez Ranger District, Santa Fe National Forest, New Mexico.
