- Description
- The Naval Air Systems Command intends to release the formal request for proposal (RFP), N00019-03-R-0098, for the MK1 MOD5 Wing Assembly and the MK1 MOD2 Wing Assembly and Container, for the Sidewinder AIM-9M Missile on or around 29 August 2003. The MK1 MOD5 Wing Assembly is approximately 2 feet long and 1 foot high and consists of a machined, composition 2618 aluminum structural forging with honeycomb core and composition 2024 aluminum skins coated with a thermal coating. The Wing also contains mechanical dampers, rollerons and cage assemblies, which act to minimize missile roll during flight. The technical data package for the Wing Assembly is UNCLASSIFIED. Refer to the RFP for specific proposal submission instructions. NAVAIR will only release the RFP, including all subsequent amendments, over the Internet. No telephone or written requests for the RFP will be accepted, except for the specific Attachments identified in the RFP NAVAIR synopsis number 20067-03****
