Description

NA Maintenance Dredging for the Military Ocean Terminal, Sunny Point (MOTSU), Southport, NC. This is an Unusual and Compelling Urgency requirement therefore, publicizing and response times have been reduced. The Scope of the Work has not been determined, and it is estimated that a maximum of approximately 1,950,000 cubic yards of material is to be removed, at a depth of upto 38 ft + 2 ft of overdepth, by an 18 inch to 30 inch hydraulic pipeline dredge, with upland dike disposal, at MOTSU. Minimum average produ ction requirement is 20,000 cubic yards of material per day. Dredging to start on or about September 19, 2003, with a 90-calendar day performance period. The work is on a Military Installation, and all persons entering the installation will be required to pass a background investigation and all equipment will be subject to searches. The magnitude of this project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. 2. AVAILIBILITY AND CHARGE: THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS WILL BE: ISSUED ON / OR-ABOUT August 21, 2003; ON A CD-ROM DISK; WILL BE PROVIDED FREE OF CHARGE; AND SHOULD NOT BE RETURNED. Plans and Specifications will not be provided in a printed-paper hard copy form. Amendments will be made through either a 3.5” Diskette, CD-ROM Disk, or by a printed-paper hard copy. The CD-ROM Disk contains a simple window viewing application and two (2) commercial software applications. All applications contained on the CD-ROM Disk can be run from the CD-ROM Disk. No installation is required. The recommended minimum hardw are requirements are (1) 486/66 personal computer; (2) 8 or 16 M RAM; (3) CD-ROM drive; and (4) a Windows driven printer. The recommended minimum software requirement is Microsoft Windows 3.1, Windows95, or Windows NT. Standard From 1442, Proposal Document s, Bid Bonds, and other normal documents required for bid submittal shall be in a paper medium. Electronic medium for bid submittal IS NOT ALLOWED.
