- PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE NOTICE CAREFULLY. The U.S. Department of the Interior, Minerals Management Service, intends to make a Firm Fixed-Price, sole-source award to SINTEF Applied Chemistry, Trondheim, Norway, to conduct the "7th International Marine Environmental Modeling Seminar (IMEMS)", in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received after the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The objective is to conduct this annual IMEMS in Washington DC in September or October 2004. The period of performance of this effort shall be twenty-four (24) months. The estimated cost of this effort is between $160,000 and $170,000.
