- Description
- Television Programming Subscription Service Contract, Federal Supply Code (FSC): S113, Standard Industrial Classification (SIC): 4841, North American Industry Classification System (NAICS): 513210 and size standard $12.5 million. This is an unrestricted solicitation. Description of Service -- Provide all personnel, equipment, tools, materials, supervision and other items and services necessary to construct, install, operate and maintain a cable television system on Maxwell AFB and Maxwell AFB-Gunter Annex, Alabama. The cable system shall be capable of providing service to various buildings located on Maxwell AFB and Maxwell AFB-Gunter Annex, Alabama. This requirement includes a basic tier of service which will include all services required by the rules of the Federal Communications Commission and any other federal law or regulation, public access channels, educational access channels, governmental access channels, the retransmission of locally broadcast television signals, and other appropriate services. The basic tier of service shall be provided to all subscribers at a set rate of basic service. The following broad categories of programming shall be provided: 1) 24-hour news and weather, 2) sports, 3) children?s programming, 4) premium movies, 5) public broadcast services, 6) major network and /or super stations; and, 7) foreign language programming. The contractor shall provide, at no additional cost to the government, at least one government access channel for noncommercial use by the government. The system shall be designed and constructed to permit the government to originate programming for the government access channel from facilities located on Maxwell AFB and Maxwell AFB-Gunter Annex. The contractor shall be responsible for maintenance and repair of equipment and shall ensure that the government access channel cannot be viewed outside the bases. Tentative date for solicitation release is 11 Aug 2003. The period of service is for a basic year and four one-year options. The estimated performance start date is 01 Oct 2003. Replies to this notice are solicited from both large and small business concerns. All requests for solicitations will be accepted by electronic or facsimile method. The deadline for receipts of proposals is tentatively 23 Aug 2003. Contractors must be registered in the Centralized Contractor Registration (CCR) in order to receive a contract award from any DOD activity. Contractors may access the CCR at http://ccr.edi.disa.mil.
