Description
NA This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items or services prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation f or solicitation DASW01-03-T-0106; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The Department of the Army, Defense Contracting Command-Washington (DCC-W), 5200 Army Pentagon, Washington, DC 20310-5200 intends to award a cont ract under full and open competition for a source of Worker's Compensation Insurance as required by the Defense Base Act (DBA) [Public--No. 208--77th Congress Passed August 16, 1941, as Amended] , as implemented by FAR 52.228-4 Worker's Compensation and Wa r-Hazard Insurance Overseas, for contracts awarded by DCC-W. The contractor shall provide a discount, or government rate, for any DCC-W contract requiring DBA insurance with performance in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Kuwait. The rate established under this co ntract for DBA coverage shall also be available to any contractor performing under contracts awarded by any Department of Defense agency with performance in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Kuwait. After award, the government will have no direct relationship with th e insurance provider. The relationship will between the insurance provider and the contractor requiring the DBA insurance. Correspondence, payments, disputes will be between the provider and contractor. The performance period of this contract will be for twelve months, with one twelve months option period.
