Description
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Electromagnetic Technology Division (ETD) proposes to negotiate on a sole source basis with the Advanced Microscopy Techniques Corp., 3 Electronics Ave., Danvers, MA for a quantity of two (2) Sprite stage automation systems. The purpose of the acquisition is to retrofit stepper motor stage automation systems onto two older scanning electron microscopes (SEM), a JEOL Model 6400 and a JEOL Model 848, that are used for both imaging and electron beam lithography. JEOL does not provide retrofits or upgrades on the stage control on its microscopes. Market research found that JEOL refers customers to Advanced Microscopy Techniques Corp for these requirements. Compatibility with ETD's existing electron beam lithography system is also required. Market research could find no other retrofit stage automation that has been successfully interfaced with the Nanometer Pattern Generation System (NPGS) manufactured by JC Nabity Lithography Systems. No solicitation is available. This small purchase (NTE $100K) is being conducted under the authority of FAR Part 12, Commercial Items. Responses to this Notice will be evaluated solely to determine if a competitive acquisition procedure would be in the best interests of the Government. Written responses to this Notice should be directed to the attention of Michelle Sandoval, Purchasing Agent, via e-mail (Michelle.Sandoval@noaa.gov) or fax (303)497-3163. FAR provisions in full text can be accessed online at http://www.arnet.gov/far/.
