Description

This is a Pre-Solicitation Notice: The USDA, Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), Veterinary Services (VS), National Veterinary Services Laboratories and Center (NVSL) for Veterinary Biologics (CVB) intend to acquire construction services for the installation of a fiber optics cable and telephone copper line at our facility in Ames, Iowa. This requirement will be issued as a Request for Quotations (RFQ). The contractor shall furnish all plant, labor, equipment, appliances and materials and other general construction necessary to complete this project. Underground construction will cover an area of approximately 3600 linear feet (LF) and directional boring of approximately 400 LF. Aerial construction is also required under this project. All cabling is to be tested and documented. Prior to construction, the contractor is required to submit shop drawings for review and approval. Prior to purchase, product data and specifications shall be submitted for review and approval. It is anticipated that a single award will be made. All effort shall be completed within approximately thirty (30) days after notification of award. This is a full and open procurement which is to be awarded as a fixed price purchase order. The estimated price range is between $25,000 and $100,000. The RFQ, #APHIS-3-3776, is to be affixed to all documents submitted in reference to this requirement. It is anticipated that the Request for Quotations (RFQ) will be released on or about August 25, 2003 and quotes will be due fourteen (14) calendar days after the release of the RFQ. The RFQ will be accessible at the following website address: www.FedBizOpps.gov. To receive notification of the RFQ?s posting, offerors may contact the contracting official by mail at: USDA, APHIS, ESB; Attn: Cynthia D. Barzey; 4700 River Road, Unit 115 (3D33); Riverdale, Maryland 20737, fax to: Construction Contracting Branch, attention: Cynthia D. Barzey at (301) 734-4846 or email: Cynthia.D.Barzey@aphis.usda.gov. Telephone requests will not be accepted. It is requested that offerors access the RFQ at the following website address: www.FedBizOpps.gov. A limited quantity of paper copies of the RFQ and/or amendments will be available for potential offerors without electronic capabilities. All responsible sources may submit an offer which will be considered. Responses (Quotes) will be due no later than 2:30 p.m. local time on September 8, 2003.
