Description
Description: The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) intends to issue a competitive Request for Proposal (RFP) to obtain the necessary qualified personnel, facilities, services, materials, supplies and equipment to perform the inspection, compliance testing and reporting services for conformance with the performance requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 206 "Door Locks and Door Retention Components." Offerors must have the necessary testing facilities and equipment to conduct the testing requirements as specified by the Solicitation and FMVSS 206. The Government may require a demonstration test at offeror’s expense prior to contract award using the test facility, materials, personnel and equipment that the offeror proposes to use in performance of this contract. Manufacturers of vehicles and/or components to be tested are not eligible for award of this procurement. The Government contemplates awarding one or more Firm Fixed Price, Indefinite Quantity task order type contract(s) for a base period of one year and four one year options. NAICS Code for this contract is 541380. Electronic copies of the RFP and any other documents related to this procurement will be available over the Internet. These documents will reside on a World Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application. The Internet site or URL for the FedBizOpps page is www.fedbizOpps.gov or the GSA Electronic Posting Service (EPS) at http://www.eps.gov. It is the Offeror’s responsibility to monitor the Internet sites for the release of the solicitation and amendments (if any). Potential Offerors will be responsible for downloading their own copy of the solicitation and amendments (if any). Requests for paper copies of the RFP will not be accepted. Estimated date for release of solicitation is on or about June 30, 2003. NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO FEDBIZOPPS.GOV ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (04-JUN-2003).
