- Description
- The following is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with Simplified Acquisition Procedures, and supplemental information included in this notice. The quotation number is N00178-03-Q-1040 and is a Request for Quotation. This announcement constitutes the only quotation being issued. A written quotation will not be issued. All interested parties shall indicate their interest and capability with their fax quote at (540) 653-7088 and shall be considered by Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD), 17320 Dahlgren Road, Dahlgren, VA 22448-5100. All offerors must be advised that they must be active in the Central Contractor Registration database at http://www.ccr.gov before an award can be made. The Government intends to purchase the following items: A. Used Model 939 Caterpillar Crawler Loader with a general purpose bucket a s manufactured by Caterpillar, Brand name or Equal, 1 each; B. Standard commercial warranty, 1 lot; C. Delivery and set-up, 1 lot. The following salient characteristics apply: (1) Caterpillar must not have been used more than 3,000 hours; and (2) Proposed model should be a 1997 or newer, and (3) Service provider for warranty must be located within 75 miles of NSWCDD. Quotations should include the following: (1) Photograph of the proposed equipment; (2) Make; (3) Model; (4) Serial number; (5) Year of manufacturer; (6) Hours used; (7) Copy of maintenance and repair history; and (8) Proposed warranty. In addition, any contractor submitting a quotation for an equal to the brand name identified above, must provide clear and convincing information, including product literature, that the proposed product is an equal. Interested parties must identify their capability to provide the specific make and model identified herein or an equal. Award of this order shall be made to the contractor whose quotation offers the best value to the Government, considering compliance to the specifications, condition of equipment, maintenance history, repair history, hours of use, results of an operational checkout, warranty terms and conditions offered, and price. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 532412 with a size standard of $6.0 million dollars. This is NOT a small business set-aside. The contract shall be a firm fixed priced order. Delivery shall be made within ten days of award to Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division, 17320 Dahlgren Road, Dahlgren, Virginia 22448. FOB Destination shall apply. Offer is due 13 August 2003 no later than 2:00 p.m. (local NSWCDD time) to: Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division, 1 7320 Dahlgren Road, Building 183, First Floor, Room 102, Dahlgren, VA 22448-5100 Code XDS113, with faxed copies acceptable. Anticipated award by 20 August 2003.
