- Description
- The Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane Division plans to enter into a cost reimbursable type contract with Sippican INC, 7 Barnabas Road, Marion MA. The requirement is for Electronic Warfare Research (EW) and Development (R&D) studies, Ordnance Alterations (ORDALTs), and MK245 modifications. All support will be in accordance with a Statement of Work. The four areas of EW R&D are Dual Radio Frequency (RF) Critical Component Development, Enhanced Security Methods for the Nulka Round, EMI Investigation and Low Cost Technologies for Guidance and Propulsion. These studies are for the enhancement and protection of current and future NAVSEA PMS-473 Decoys and Deception Devices. The OrRDALTs include upgrading/ordinance alteration (ORDALT) of NULKA MK234 Production Improvement Payloads (PIP) Electronic Payloads P/N 314002 to the Electromagnetic Control (EMC) configuration Electr onic Payload 315002. The MK 245 modifications include reworking and converting the U.S. Navy?s MK 245 MOD 0 Infrared (Giant) to MK 245 MOD 1 Infrared (Giant). The highest level of security required under this requirement is Top Secret, which will be designated on DD Form 254. Possession of this level of clearance will be verified prior to award. These requirements will be procured on a sole-source basis in accordance with the statutory authority 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1. It is anticipated that the delivery will be FOB Destination Crane Division, Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane, Indiana within 24 months after contract award.
