- The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has a requirement for lifecyce support on the Critical Power Distribution Systems (CPDS), including the Critical Redundant Power Distribution Systems (CRPDS), and the Dual Redundant Power Distribution Systems (DRPDS) designed, and integrated by NV Enterprises (NVE), Reston VA. The CPDS provides power to critical and essential loads at six Terminal Radar Approach Control (TRACON) facilities in the National Airway Systems (NAS). The contractor will be required to provide technical experts with experience and proficiency in design, modification, and operation of the CPDS hardware and software (including associated CPDS technical documentation). Support services will include the sub-tasks identified in the attached Second Level Engineering Support Task. NVEis the only known source for these services since they are the designer of the CPDS. The CPDS design utilizes a Power Monitoring Control System (PMCS) to monitor and control components of CPDS. NVE designed site specific software applications for the PMCS. The FAA purchased the software and technical instruction manuals from NVE; however, they are not comprehensive or sufficient in technical detail or quality in order for another vendor to perform these services.
