- Description
- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to award, on a sole source basis, a purchase order to Georgia State University, Georgia Health Policy Center located in Atlanta, GA. The purchase order is for the purpose of supporting the Rural Health Networks Program of the Georgia Health Policy Center at Geo rgia State University collaboration with the CDC in the planning, implementation, and documentation of the proposed exploratory study ?HIV/AIDS and STD Services for Young Women in Rural Georgia: Formative Research?. The purpose of the proposed study is to collect formative data on the use and provision of HIV/AIDS and STD services to young women, ages 18-25, residing in rural Hancock and Emanuel counties in Georgia. Data collection will occur primarily through in-depth focus group discussions with young adult women, healthcare providers, and community leaders. The authority for this sole source procurement is FAR part 6.302-1 in that Georgia State University, Georgia Health Policy Center is the only known source with the knowledge required to provide this data. This is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation is available. Firms that believe they can provide the required services are encouraged to identify themselves and give written notification to the Contracting Officer within 15 days from the publication date of this synopsis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
