- SPECIAL NOTICE The Department of Energy?s Oak Ridge Operations Office invites expressions of interests from firms that produce shipping containers with DOT (Department of Transportation) A-7A and STC (Strong Tight Containers) Type containers to participate with the Department in a basic ordering agreement (BOA). The Oak Ridge Operations Office js considering awarding BOAs to all qualified firms. Upon award all DOE federal activities and their authorized contractors can place orders consistent with the general terms and conditions of the BOA. The Department estimates annual requirements for the DOT A-7A to be approximately 3,600 containers. Estimates for the STC Type containers are approximately 7,200 annually. The containers? dimension for both types shall be standardized. In addition a smaller amount, approximately 1,200 of either DOT A-7A or STC-Type maybe required, however this quantity will be of varying, specialized sizes.
