- The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) with CENTRE SUISSE D?ELECTRONIQUE ET DE MICROTECHNIQUE SA (hereinafter CSEM) in Zuerich, Switzerland for the purchase of two(2) 3D Time-of-flight Solid-state Camera Demonstrators (Model: SwissRanger SR-2) for use by the NIST, Materials and Construction Research Division. Demonstration software is available as an executable file that runs under Windows 98/NT/2000. The demonstration software allows the acquisition, display, and storage of images and image sequences. Gray level images and the color-coded phase image may be stored in BMP format; distance data in ascii text format. ***Sole source determination is based on NIST?s evaluation of CSEM?s first generation prototype sensor and the availability of advanced low cost working prototypes. ***Delivery shall be FOB Destination. ***The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 334516, and the size standard is 500 employees. ***No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations, however, responses received by the due date will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
